What do I need to consider when hiring employees?

Upon hiring, the employee must provide the employer with the usual employment documents, including a certificate from the previous employer regarding vacation days already taken in the current calendar year, against confirmation of receipt. The terms of employment must be laid down in writing in an employment contract in accordance with the Proof of Employment Act and signed by both contracting parties. One copy shall be handed to the employees. The contract and working language is German.
